Our Biometrics 2007 meeting will be held at the Novotel Pacific Bay Resort in Coffs Harbour, NSW, found on the corner of the Pacific Highway and Bay Drive. |
| This 4.5-star rated venue is only a 10-minute drive from central Coffs Harbour, yet it feels like a million miles away, being set amongst expansive landscaped gardens on Charlesworth Bay. |
|
Hotel facilities include a restaurant, bar, 9 hole golf course, tennis and volleyball courts, 3 heated swimming pools, indoor and outdoor spas, gym, day spa with floatation tank and kids club. The resort has direct beach access, a short stroll from the resort.
The Pacific Conference Centre at the Novotel Pacific Bay Resort was opened in 2001 and is recognised as one of the most attractive and workable conference venues in Australia.
See Pacific Bay Resort for further information about the conference facilities and resort.
Location
Coffs Harbour was chosen as the location for our next Biometrics meeting for several reasons including:
- Its central location on the coast of NSW, approximately 550 km north of Sydney and 420 km south of Brisbane
- Being serviced by frequent flights of approx. 1 hour from both cities.
- Its coastal position with 44 km of pristine beaches and abundant fresh seafood
- For having an excellent subtropical climate with average min./max. December temperatures being 18 and 26 degrees Celcius.
- The beauty of the surrounding Coffs Coast area including the towns of Woolgoolga, Sawtell, Nambucca Heads, Bellingen and Dorrigo, as well as dramatic ranges and several national parks including the world-heritage listed Dorrigo National Park.
- Being a city of 60,000 people, it is large enough to support requirements for holding conferences and for making a delegate's stay comfortable.
For further information about Coffs Harbour and the surrounding areas, see the Coffs Coast website or this Coffs website.
