The conference dinner was held at the Pet Porpoise Pool in Coffs Harbour. This is one of Coffs Harbour's biggest tourist drawcards and offered a unique location for the dinner. Besides enjoying some great food and fine wine, delegates were entertained by dolphins and sea lions in a specially-ran show and had the opportunity to be kissed by a seal should they desire it.

With almost a quarter of the conference participants being students or early career researchers, Kevin Wang saw a great opportunity to organise a dinner during the conference for those "young statisticians" to socialise and network with others at a similar stage in their careers.

Some 25 folk headed off to Bongil Bongil Lakes near Sawtell for an afternoon of kayaking, bird watching, and socialising. A fun time was had by all!
